The Author
Dave Yaeger
When I was in kindergarten, my teacher sent me home with a note. It said, “David has explored everything, but his head is always in the clouds.” I guess I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer.
I started writing in high school. My diaries are filled with daily activities and the occasional poem or short story. An early English major at WVU, I moved on to Business and pursued a career in Banking. The entries all but stopped. New inspiration came with the birth of my children, and the diaries filled up. The kids became an endless source of stories. Stories of triumph, humor and sometimes sadness. As they grew to adulthood, once again, the diary entries slowed to a trickle.
Now in retirement, I’ve found the time to reflect on the wonder and imagination of children, to see the beauty of family and friends, and to fulfill a dream of becoming an author. My son said, “You usually don’t find the words imaginative and banker in the same sentence, but there are exceptions to every rule.”
